  • Hiking: There are over 800 miles of trails in the National Park, ranging from easy to strenuous.
  • White Water Rafting: The Pigeon River, located just outside the national park, offers both mild and wild rafting options for all skill levels.
  • Mountain Biking: The national park has several trails open to mountain biking, including the Gatlinburg Trail, the Oconaluftee River Trail, and the Deep Creek Trail.
  • Rock Climbing: The national park offers several climbing areas, including the Chimneys and the Precipice.
  • Ziplining: take in panoramic views of the park with a zipline adventure from one of several local operators, including Legacy Mountain Ziplines, Adventure Park Ziplines, and Wahoo Ziplines.

  • Cades Cove Loop: This scenic drive through the national park offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, historical sites, and hiking trails. Cades Cove is also home to several historic structures, including churches, log cabins, and barns.

  • Alum Cave Trail: 4.4 miles round trip, moderate difficulty, popular for its stunning views of the Smoky Mountains and unique geological features such as Alum Cave Bluffs.
  • Chimney Tops Trail: 3.8 miles, strenuous difficulty, leads to a rocky outcropping with panoramic views of the park.
  • Laurel Falls Trail: 2.6 miles round trip, easy difficulty, leads to one of the park's most iconic waterfalls with a paved trail and scenic views along the way.
  • Rainbow Falls Trail: 5.4 miles, moderate difficult. This round-trip hike is known for its stunning waterfall and beautiful scenery, including views of Mount LeConte and the surrounding forests.
  • Abrams Falls Trail: This 5.2-mile round-trip hike leads to a picturesque waterfall and swimming hole, with scenic views of the surrounding mountains and forests along the way
